Art is fundamental to communication. Whether one is a professional artist seeking to articulate a personal point of view through painting or sculpture, a musician trying to capture the essence of an emotion, or an engineer or scientist attempting to explain a complex problem or arcane theory, art can provide a multitude of illustrations and ideas that will assist. A teenager feeling crushed by the weight of the world can also be helped by art that can alleviate some of the pain and allow interaction with fellow teenagers. Art has the potential to touch every member of society.

Participants and students in the Educational and Outreach Programs may not be artists; perhaps they are simply curious to learn more about glass. Whether a child, adult, parent or professional, our aim is to enrich the imagination and help people articulate ideas through interaction with art and glassmaking.

The projects undertaken by Art Glass Solutions Educational Program include school children, university students, enthusiasts practicing artists, professional adults and the retired.

The activities range from slide shows, video presentations, discussion groups, beginners “hands on experience”, artist interactive workshops and weekly classes that illuminate the many different aspects of glass art and glassmaking. You can start with a beginner workshop or take one of our regular evening classes. Those with a particular interest may go on to participate in one of our master classes with international invited artists or international internships.
