research & development

We continue to work with craft studios, factories and ateliers, working alongside the makers and factory workers to combine our knowledge of making, aesthetics of colour combinations and cultural understandings and ways of doing things.

We may not share the same spoken language, but we do understand the same language of glass, of material and of making. Watching and learning, it is up to our AGS Artists to realise the possibilities of process so that we may adapt and our ideas to suit the possibilities of what is achievable, find the bounties of a practice and then push these boundaries into new territory to develop something new and different.

3D printing and waterjet cutting are just a few of the new technologies currently available that have yet to be fully explored. It is within these areas that we are interested to venture within the near and foreseeable future.
